Bishop McDevitt and Carlisle are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Crusaders will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Bison at 4:15 p.m. The last three games Bishop McDevitt has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Monday just wasn't the day for Bishop McDevitt's offense. They fell just short of Hershey by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlisle). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Central Dauphin East a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.
Bradyn Sober made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carlisle is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5 otherwise. Sober was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Curtis Stroud, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2025. Isaiah Ream was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Carlisle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Carlisle's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Bishop McDevitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Everything went Bishop McDevitt's way against Carlisle when the teams last played back in March, as Bishop McDevitt made off with an 11-1 win. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
