The Santa Teresa Saints won the last time they faced the Leigh Longhorns, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Santa Teresa walked away with a 45-38 victory over Leigh.
Dahlia Daboul was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Lacy, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Leigh still got an impressive performance from Daphne Glim, who scored 12 points along with five blocks and four steals. Another player making a difference was Cali Wallace, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Santa Teresa is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Leigh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Teresa will take on Prospect at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prospect is coming into the contest with 11 straight wins on the road, meaning Santa Teresa will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Leigh, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Leigh focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
