Baseball Recap: Covenant Academy Comes Up Short

Covenant Academy lost against Central Fellowship Christian Academy back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Covenant Academy took a 16-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Fellowship Christian Academy. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joseph Christy and Asa Wood did some serious damage despite the final result: Christy scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Wood scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Wood a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Blake Bartow, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Even though they lost, Covenant Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Covenant Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Covenant Academy has already played their next match, an 11-4 defeat against Mount de Sales Academy on the 21st. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-10 loss against Gatewood on the 21st.
