Baseball Recap: Pacific Grove Gets the Win

Pacific Grove won the last time they faced Everett Alvarez and things went their way on Friday too. The Breakers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Eagles. That's two games straight that the Breakers have won by exactly two runs.

Pacific Grove's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Issac Sanchez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Tyler Stutzman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Pacific Grove and bumps their season record up to 6-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Everett Alvarez, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Pacific Grove and Everett Alvarez will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Breakers see the field they'll take on Alisal at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Everett Alvarez, their break will end when they face Greenfield at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
