The Maranatha Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Bishop by a score of 60-58. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maranatha Christian in their matchups with Bishop's: they've now lost four in a row.
Maranatha Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zeke Walker, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Walker continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Ralston, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Maranatha Christian bumped their record down to 9-14 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Bishop's, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Maranatha Christian will head out on the road to square off against Foothills Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Lago Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Del Lago Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
