The Copley Indians had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Waynedale 48-46. Given Copley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Izzy Callaway, who scored 19 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Copley's points. Kami Ayoup was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
