Baseball Recap: Antelope Wins Going Away Against Kennedy

Antelope's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Kennedy Cougars with a sharp 18-5 win. Considering the Titans have won seven matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Romo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Antelope got a massive performance out of Nick Ehrman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The Titans are undefeated when Ehrman posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Kaden Coates was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Antelope always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Antelope now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kennedy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Looking ahead, Antelope will take on Cordova at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kennedy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Kennedy Cougars take on West Park Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. They will need to watch out since West Park has now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
