Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside Prep). They blew past Hesperia Christian 33-1 on Thursday. With that win, the Silver Knights brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.
Andrew Logsdon and Trent Bourgeois did most of the damage at the plate: Logsdon went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Bourgeois went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Logsdon has become a key player for Riverside Prep: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Josiah Lopez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Riverside Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bloomington's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Riverside Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bloomington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Riverside Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
