There's no place like home for the Corry Beavers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged Eisenhower out 41-39. That's another feather in the cap for Corry, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Eisenhower's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lainey Font, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Clara Steinberg who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Steinberg has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times she's played.
Corry's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. As for Eisenhower, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corry will take on Oil City at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Oil City is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Eisenhower, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Girard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Girard is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
