Baseball Recap: Skyline Find Success

Skyline proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Salesian College Preparatory Pride 4-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

Isaac Okajima made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Okajima wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dallas Tucker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Skyline is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Skyline will challenge Oakland Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they will face off against Jesse M. Bethel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
