Cornerstone Charter is 10-0 against the Lions since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Millennium Lions at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Cornerstone Charter suffered a rough 76-50 loss at the hands of the Yellowjackets. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cornerstone Charter in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone Charter had strong showings from D'Trevion Harris, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds, and Lake Bristol, who scored ten points. Harris is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Seth Woodard, who scored five points.
Cornerstone Charter struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Millennium's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 16th straight defeat. They were dealt a 89-20 loss at the hands of Piedmont Classical.
Cornerstone Charter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Millennium, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Cornerstone Charter against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 73-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cornerstone Charter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
