After a string of nine wins, the Maplewood Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 47-29 bruising from Franklin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Maplewood has scored all season.
Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katie Boal, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Boal is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Halle Curry was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Maplewood's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Franklin, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Maplewood will take on Cochranton at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cochranton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to challenge Conneaut Area at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
