Baseball Recap: Mare Island Tech Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mare Island Tech Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 14-9 win over the Leadership Public Schools Richmond Pumas. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 back in March.

Raylen Loudermilk made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Loudermilk was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sebastian Romo was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Salmaan Abdi, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Mare Island Tech Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mare Island Tech Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Leadership Public Schools Richmond, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
