The Juniata Indians lost against the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Juniata received a tough blow as they fell 61-43 to Upper Dauphin Area. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Juniata in their matchups with Upper Dauphin Area: they've now lost seven in a row.
Gracie Griffiths was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds for Upper Dauphin Area. Griffiths set a new season high mark in steals with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Weibley, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Juniata bumped their record down to 6-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Upper Dauphin Area, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juniata won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Belleville Mennonite at 5:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Upper Dauphin Area will finish 2023 at home by hosting Tri-Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
