Meanwhile, Polk County came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 8-3. The game was the first time the Wolverines have beaten the Blue Devils on their field since May 16, 2015.
Mia Bradley was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Junie Mitchell, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Polk County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Hendersonville's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Polk County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hendersonville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Polk County struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
