Lynwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taliyah Mcferson, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was Mcferson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shanilah Ewing, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Lynwood's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Gahr, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lynwood will take on Downey at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Downey is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Gahr is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Warren at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th.
