After a string of three wins, the Juniata Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 53-40 to Susquenita. Juniata lost against Susquenita in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-44 score last time.
Susquenita was led to victory by Brye Wojcik and Ayahna Fleisher. Wojcik scored 12 points along with three steals, while Fleisher scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The contest was Fleisher's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tierney Stuempfle, who scored nine points.
Juniata's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Susquenita, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juniata will take on Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Halifax will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 665th, while Juniata is ranked 268th). As for Susquenita, they will be playing at home against Newport at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
