Hillcrest won against Vista del Lago last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Trojans didn't even let the Ravens on the board, marking the Trojans' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Chris Sampson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Luke Mueller was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Hillcrest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Hillcrest pushed their record up to 11-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Vista del Lago, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Coincidentally, Hillcrest and Vista del Lago will both be playing Canyon Springs the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, while the Ravens will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
