Lutheran extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 12-4. They blew past the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks 14-3. Considering the Lions have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lutheran got a great performance from Annie Schroeder as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Schroeder has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Elle Beausoleil was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Reed, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in three consecutive games.
As for Cheyenne Mountain, they moved to 10-2 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since October 11, 2024.
On Cheyenne Mountain's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corrine Harlow, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Air Academy on the 22nd. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-7 loss against Palmer Ridge on the 22nd.
