The Rodriguez Mustangs will take on the Del Oro Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Rodriguez is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Rodriguez is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Whitney. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Rodriguez got a great performance from Nick Schikore as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Schikore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tavin Schmidt, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nateo Victorio, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Rodriguez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whitney only posted an OBP of .371.
Meanwhile, Del Oro won against Folsom on Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles beat Atwater by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4.
Jackson Gray tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits.
On the hitting side, Rusty Ducharme was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Crosby Pilgrim was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Del Oro's victory bumped their record up to 16-10-1. As for Rodriguez, their win bumped their record up to 21-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rodriguez has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Del Oro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
