The Santiago Cavaliers will take on the Saddleback Roadrunners at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Santiago will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Santiago is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Santa Ana Valley with a sharp 23-2 win on Wednesday. The Cavaliers have beaten the Falcons the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.
Josefa Rodriguez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Chris Arceo was a standout: he scored five runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. He also got four hits, which is notable because Santiago is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-9 otherwise. Matthew Rubin was another key player, scoring four runs while going 5-for-6.
Santiago always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Saddleback hadn't done well against Godinez Fundamental recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Roadrunners walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Grizzlies. The win was some much needed relief for the Roadrunners as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Diego Enriquez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Enriquez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Ricardo Marquez was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. Jorge Esquivel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Santiago pushed their record up to 5-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Saddleback, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
Santiago couldn't quite finish off Saddleback in their previous matchup back in March and fell 5-3. Will the Cavaliers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
