After flying high against the McNair Mustangs last Tuesday, the Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights came back down to earth. Elite Scholars Academy took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, Elite Scholars Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Chargers are ranked 81st).
Despite the loss, Elite Scholars Academy still got an impressive performance from Chase Grant, who scored 26 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grant has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Miller, who scored seven points.
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy was led to victory by Ese Aigbokhae and Kam Warford. Aigbokhae dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Warford scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Warford posted two or more blocks. Jayden Bone was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Elite Scholars Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elite Scholars Academy will take on the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Callaway is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against the War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Landmark Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday.
