The Yosemite Badgers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Riverdale with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. The win was just what Yosemite needed coming off of a 69-28 loss in their prior contest.
Jadyn Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Yosemite's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bullock, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Riverdale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karen Ayala. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ayala has scored all season.
Yosemite's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-13. As for Riverdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.
Yosemite will be playing at home against the Blue Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Caruthers' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 contests. Riverdale is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Kings Christian's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so the Cowboys' offense will have their work cut out for them.
