The Oak Park Eagles will take on the Oxnard Yellowjackets at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Oak Park has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight losses, while Oxnard will come in with five straight victories.
On Saturday, Oak Park came up short against Agoura and fell 8-3.
Oak Park got a good showing from Alex Lee, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Lee gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2025.
At the plate, Oak Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Kutsch, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxnard). They put the hurt on Foothill Tech with a sharp 12-3 win on Thursday. The Yellowjackets not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22, 2025 (when they won 16-4).
Jordan Raya and Jerry Gonzales were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Raya tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Gonzales pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Oxnard is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise. At bat, Raya went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI, while Gonzales went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Gonzales has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Garcia, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Calzadillas, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
Oxnard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Oak Park's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Oxnard, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
