Vallejo has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the El Cerrito Gauchos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Vallejo, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-46 loss to Fairfield.
Jazmine Cardwell put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Ashby, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, El Cerrito scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Concord 47-26. The win was just what El Cerrito needed coming off of a 57-28 loss in their prior match.
Vallejo has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for El Cerrito, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.
Vallejo suffered a grim 53-31 defeat to El Cerrito when the teams last played back in January. Can Vallejo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
