For Independence's part, Luis Romero- Orellana made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Romero- Orellana was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Richard Kearney was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaiden Bush, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.
Walnut Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Independence, they will take on West at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The 76ers are facing the Cowboys at the right time seeing as the Cowboys are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
