Make it seven blowout wins for the Arvin Bears this season. They blew past Mira Monte 62-18 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-9.
Arvin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Roxana Fernandez led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven assists. Emily Soto was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The victory (which was Arvin's third in a row) raised their record to 12-9. As for Mira Monte, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvin will challenge Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mira Monte, they will head out on the road to take on Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
