The Beloit Trojans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 56-45 win over Ellsworth. That's another feather in the cap for Beloit, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Beloit's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Cheney, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Beisner, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Beloit's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Ellsworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Beloit will be home for the holidays to greet Phillipsburg on Tuesday. Hopefully Phillipsburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. Ellsworth will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Republic County at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
