Linville Hill came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 29-26 victory over Lancaster County Christian. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Linville Hill has scored all year.
Desiree Smucker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with four steals. Smucker is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ellie Rishel was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Linville Hill's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Lancaster County Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linville Hill will take on Conestoga Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conestoga Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lancaster County Christian, they will play host again and welcome Christian School of York, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
