In what's become a running theme this season, the South Pasadena Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 81-39 victory over Temple City. With South Pasadena ahead 45-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.
South Pasadena was led to victory by Dylan Tse and Kayla Boozer. Tse scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Boozer dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Tse has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Rain Kim, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Temple City still got an impressive performance from Kristi Huynh, who scored 17 points. That was a full 43.6% of Temple City's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Temple City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South Pasadena pulled down 23 offensive rebounds.
South Pasadena's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Temple City, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
South Pasadena will look to defend their home court on Friday against Monrovia at 5:30 p.m. Monrovia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1090th, while South Pasadena is ranked 31st). As for Temple City, they will head out on the road to square off against San Marino at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
