Miramonte is 6-1 against Dougherty Valley since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Miramonte Matadors will be playing at home against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Miramonte, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-32 loss to Eureka.
Defeat or not, Miramonte got some senior leadership from Karena Eberts who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks and Marianna Lawrence who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, Dougherty Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 63-52 to Clayton Valley Charter.
Miramonte's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dougherty Valley, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-3.
Miramonte was able to grind out a solid victory over Dougherty Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 50-37. Does Miramonte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dougherty Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
