Sonora is 9-1 against Amador since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Sonora Wildcats' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Amador Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sonora posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 39-19 margin over Summerville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Sonora has posted against Summerville since February 8, 2019.
Sonora's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Faught, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adeline Hanson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Amador came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past Argonaut 34-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Amador has posted yet this season.
The victory got Sonora back to even at 11-11. As for Amador, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Sonora, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-28 loss to Amador when the teams last played on January 5th. Can Sonora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
