Leigh is 0-3 against Overfelt since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Leigh Longhorns have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Overfelt Royals at 7:15 p.m. on October 20th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Leigh beat Willow Glen 17-7.
Leigh's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler J. Donaldson, who rushed for 87 yards, and also threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayan Shariat, who gained 128 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything went Overfelt's way against Westmont on Friday as Overfelt made off with a 46-21 win. The result was nothing new for Overfelt, who have now won three matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Leigh's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 5-2. As for Overfelt, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Leigh couldn't quite finish off Overfelt in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 and fell 16-14. Thankfully for Leigh, Mathias Legrand Carrillo (who rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
