Bishop Neumann has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Seward Bluejays at 4:15 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, it was close, but Bishop Neumann ultimately received the gift of a 54-51 win from a begrudging Cavalierssquad. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Gross Catholic is ranked 111th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Seward on the road against Grand Island Central Catholic on Friday as the team secured a 60-31 victory. That looming 60-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Seward yet this season.
Bishop Neumann pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Seward, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Bishop Neumann couldn't quite finish off Seward when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 45-43. Will Bishop Neumann have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
