This season hasn't been kind to the Cupertino Pioneers, who are still winless after their sixth game. They took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Live Oak. While losing is never fun, Cupertino can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1015th, while Live Oak is ranked 424th).
Isabelle Cline was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points for Live Oak. The contest was Cline's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Rafat, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Cupertino's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Live Oak, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Cupertino will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westmont at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. As for Live Oak, they will face off against Greenfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
