Basketball Recap: Shadow Creek's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Shadow Creek came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 67-54 win over the Alief Taylor Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-50 back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shadow Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoe Senganya, who posted 20 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Senganya has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gianna Gentry, who had 11 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Shadow Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Alief Taylor still got an impressive performance from Madison Bush-Lewis, who went 9 of 22 on her way to 20 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Hamilton, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.

Shadow Creek has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Alief Taylor, they moved to 20-4 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Shadow Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-38 victory against Port Arthur Memorial on the 28th. As for Alief Taylor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-33 win against Alief Hastings on the 3rd.
