Nuview Bridge had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 10-7-1 to make it five. They fell just short of the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers by a score of 8-7. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Johnny Aguiluz put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Christian Flores was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Ethen Rivera was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Santa Rosa Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.
Like Nuview Bridge, Santa Rosa Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Dylan Soules. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Soules was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Santa Rosa Academy let Dominic Zagone and Maxwell Dupree run wild. Zagone went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Dupree went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Logan Ledesma, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
While Nuview Bridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
