Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Has No Trouble Against Sandy Creek

Trinity Christian won against Sandy Creek last Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Patriots. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Camden Rodgers looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Tj Ford was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Melton, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Trinity Christian and bumps their season record up to 15-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Sandy Creek, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Trinity Christian will face off against rival Whitewater at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.7, the Wildcats 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Sandy Creek is set to square off against their familiar foe Troup County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
