The Shelton Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Blue Hill Bobcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Shelton walked away with a 44-33 win over Blue Hill. Given Shelton's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Blue Hill is ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blue Hill's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reece Mlady, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Mlady has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Mangers, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Shelton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Blue Hill, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Shelton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Silver Lake at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Blue Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Harvard at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Harvard comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
