On Friday, The Hanover Park Hornets''s game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Verona by a score of 14-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hanover Park also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Joey Borrello was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Several Hillbillies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zach Garmont, who gained 234 total yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Demasi, who threw for 182 yards and a touchdown while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Hanover Park's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Verona, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Hanover Park will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pompton Lakes at 7:00 p.m. As for Verona, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Butler's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Verona has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
