Vernon has gone a perfect 8-0 against Malone recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Jackets will face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Vernon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Vernon made easy work of Abbeville Christian Academy and carried off a 17-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Jackets, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Juliana Brizzolara made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Brizzolara was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cheyenne Wilson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. McKaela Haselow also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, Malone waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Atomics. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 7, 2025.
Like Vernon, Malone also got a great game from a two-way player: Arielle Dickens. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. With that strong performance, Dickens is now averaging an impressive 5.6 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hailey Josey was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anoshua Wesley, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Malone's record now sits at 6-3. As for Vernon, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Vernon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Malone struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Vernon's way against Malone when the teams last played back in February, as Vernon made off with a 19-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
