The Elko Indians will square off against the Churchill County Greenwave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Elko is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Sparks to the tune of 55-7 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Railroaders: they've now won five in a row.

Elko can attribute much of their success to Ethan Kraintz, who threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and Hagen Robinson, who rushed for 39 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Kraintz a new career-high in passer rating (168.8).
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Elko, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Coy Jones, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Churchill County faced Fernley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Greenwave blew past the Vaqueros, posting a 42-15 victory.
Elko better keep an eye on Carson Melendy. He was instrumental in Churchill County's win, rushing for 357 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Melendy is now averaging an impressive 106.9 rushing yards per game.
Churchill County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
One reason for the win was Churchill County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Wyatt Dixon and Kacin Rogne, who racked up four sacks between them. Churchill County received some extra help from Alijah Juarez, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Elko's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Churchill County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
