Grace is a perfect 9-0 against Dunn since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Lancers will square off against the Earwigs at 10:00 a.m. Grace is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Grace made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Oaks Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lancers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Lancers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Grace saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Borgstrom, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Dunn had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 18-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Earwigs, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Hudson Von Der Lieth, who went 3-for-5 with eight stolen bases, five runs, and one double. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Benfield, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Grace's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Dunn, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Grace has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dunn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Grace's way against Dunn in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Grace made off with an 11-2 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Earwigs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
