Steele Canyon and Grossmont squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Steele Canyon had to settle for second. They fell 7-4 to the Foothillers. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Julian Cervantes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Hall, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Steele Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Grossmont, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-18.

Steele Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grossmont, they will challenge Mt. Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sundevils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Foothillers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
