Uniontown and Southmoreland are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Uniontown Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Southmoreland Scotties at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Uniontown has not done well against Albert Gallatin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Uniontown came out on top against Albert Gallatin by a score of 45-38. The victory was just what Uniontown needed coming off of a 47-25 loss in their prior match.
Uniontown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Geelece Ingram, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of A?kira Dade, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Southmoreland's 12-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 42-30 victory over Ringgold. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Southmoreland has managed all season.
Uniontown's record now sits at 4-8. As for Southmoreland, their win ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-11.
Uniontown didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Southmoreland in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Uniontown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
