Chowchilla has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Minarets Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chowchilla has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Chowchilla didn't have too much trouble with Fresno Christian on the road as they won 40-21.
Chowchilla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nour Escheik led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Escheik is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Molly Silva was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Minarets' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Sierra 72-16. Minarets was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-8.
Chowchilla has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Minarets, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Chowchilla came out on top in a nail-biter against Minarets in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 33-31. Does Chowchilla have another victory up their sleeve, or will Minarets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
