The Lathrop Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Beyer. Considering Lathrop has won six contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Lathrop was led to victory by Tatiana Lowery and Shakara Porter. Lowery scored 18 points along with three steals, while Porter dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Porter has scored at least 25% of Lathrop's points. Marianna Delgado was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
The win was the fourth in a row for Lathrop, bringing their record for this year to 14-5. As for Beyer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Lathrop will head out on the road to face off against Johansen at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Beyer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Davis at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
