The Madera South Stallions lost against the Torres Toros back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Madera South fell to Torres 40-34. Madera South has not had much luck with Torres recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was MICHELLE CORONA, who scored nine points.
Torres got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sabrina Cerrillo out in front who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Cerrillo hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. Nevaeh Chavez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Madera South has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Torres, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Madera South will be playing at home against Sunnyside at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyside is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Torres, they will head out on the road to challenge Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
