The Valley Vista Monsoon's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Millennium at home and fell 108-46. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley Vista in their matchups with Millennium: they've now lost nine in a row.
Valley Vista's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamani Moody, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Javani Jones was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Valley Vista's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6. As for Millennium, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Vista will be home for the holidays to greet Doherty at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Millennium won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Brophy College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Brophy College Prep is ranked first, while Millennium is ranked seventh).
