The Pacelli Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Edgar Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacelli is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Pacelli made easy work of Port Edwards and carried off an 18-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Blackhawks: they've now won four in a row.
Chase Napiwocki was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Pacelli got a massive performance out of Nate Haemmerle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Haemmerle has become a key player for the Cardinals: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Eric Reincke was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs.
Pacelli was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Edgar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 13-6 to Rhinelander.
Edgar saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Schneider, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Pacelli's record is now 14-9. As for Edgar, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pacelli hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Edgar struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pacelli got the 'W' when the teams last played back in June of 2025 against Edgar by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
